Toronto FC’s Jermain Defoe has been linked with a return to the Premier League with newly promoted Queens Park Rangers.
The 31-year-old looks set for a return to England at the end of the MLS season and could link up with Harry Redknapp once again.
Redknapp is the current QPR manager and he is a huge admirer of the striker having managed him at West Ham, Portsmouth and most recently Tottenham and is thought to be interested once again.
Defoe has scored goals wherever he has been and would be a great addition to any Premier league squad.
The striker will remain permanently at Toronto but a loan move is common among MLS based players, with Clint Dempsey and Landon Donovan both having enjoyed spells in England with Everton and Fulham respectively.
Defoe is enjoying a great start to life in MLS, having scored 7 goals in 8 games so far, and that figure is set to increase.
He could still play in the Premier League but is enjoying life in Major League Soccer, and any loan move will have to wait until the end of the year.
Having said that, a striker that boasts over 50 international caps will always be in demand.
