Venue: Abbey Stadium – Friday January 23 – 19:55

Match odds: Cambridge 14/1 – Draw 6/1 – Manchester United 1/6

The fourth round of the FA Cup gets underway on Friday night in fine style as English football’s most successful club, Manchester United, travel to take on Cambridge United in a proper cup tie.

The Red Devils beat Yeovil away from home in the third round earlier this month 2-0 thanks to goals from Ander Herrera and Angel Di Maria and will expect to progress past the League Two side on Friday.

Cambridge United’s home record in FA Cup: Played 3 – Won 2 – Drawn 1 – Lost 0

Cambridge United currently sit in 12th place in the fourth tier of English football but they have won three on the bounce now, including a 2-1 win against Luton Town in the last round of the competition, so they will be in full confidence going into the game.

This will be the third meeting between the sides as they played each other in the second round of the League Cup in the 1991/92 season, with United winning the game 4-1 on aggregate over two legs.

Ryan Giggs scored in the first-leg at Old Trafford on that occasion as a 17-year-old and he will be in the dugout alongside Louis Van Gaal, who is looking to continue his record of winning a trophy in the first season at every club he’s managed.

United haven’t lost away from home since a 1-0 loss at Manchester City in early November and Van Gaal will likely field a strong side for the game, with goalkeeper Victor Valdes likely to make his debut.

James Wilson and Marouane Fellaini should find themselves in the starting lineup after both came off the bench to score in Saturday’s win at QPR.
