Orlando City SC‘s Brazilian superstar Kaka has started preseason training with his new teammates ahead of the 2015 season and the 32-year-old is hoping for glory with Orlando in the club’s inaugural season.
Kaka finished his first training session with the club on Friday and told the media that Orlando was prepared for an excellent first campaign in MLS.
“We are ready to start this preseason and ready to have a very good season this year,” Kaka said. “The moment has arrived, and I am so happy. God bless Orlando City.”
And Kaka is not planning on taking time to get used to his new surrounding in America, as he wants to be lifting the MLS Cup come the end of the season.
“I think we can with the championship. This is my target,” Kaka told ESPN. “I’m used to thinking about winning. I know that our first step this year is to get to the playoffs, but I still hope that we can win the league.”
The 2007 Ballon d’Or winner is one of many big names set to join MLS this year and he can’t wait for the adventure to begin, adding that the league could be one of the biggest in the world in just a few years.
“[MLS] is growing so fast,” he said. “Maybe in five or 10 years, it will be one of the biggest leagues in the world. They are growing sustainably.
“The have a lot of good professionals. A lot of players are coming from other teams around the world. This is a very good sign for the league.”
