Premier League: Burnley vs West Brom
Venue: Turf Moor – Sunday, February 8 – 12:00pm
Match Odds: Burnley 7/5 – Draw 21/10 – West Brom 2/1
Burnley come into the game off the back of two losses and will be looking to pick up a win against the Baggies, who lay only two spots and two points above them in the Premier League.
This game comes with added importance when you consider that West Brom won the reverse fixture 4-0 back in September and also the fact that the Clarets lost 2-0 at fellow relegation candidates Sunderland last weekend.
Burnley’s home record in the Premier League: Played 12 – Won 3 – Drawn 4 – Lost 5
Tony Pulis will be hoping his West Brom side can bounce back from their 3-0 home loss to Tottenham last weekend.
West Brom had gone two league games without conceding a goal until the visit of Spurs and will be looking to regain the solidarity in defence they were beginning to show.
West Brom’s away record in the Premier League: Played 11 – Won 2 – Drawn 4 – Lost 5
This game should be settled at the other end of the pitch though, with both sides possessing young English strikers who are both knocking on Roy Hodgson’s national team door.
Danny Ings and Saido Berahino will be looking to impress Roy Hodgson once again, and more importantly add three points to their teams tally as both sides are hoping to remain outside of the bottom three.
Burnley’s last five in the Premier League: D/D/W/L/L
West Brom’s last five in the Premier League: L/D/W/D/L
Key Stat: West Brom are without an away win in the Premier League since November 1st – a key reason behind why they are underachieving this season.
Key Player: Danny Ings – Ings was the target for many top-flight clubs this January window, and his stock can only rise further with more stellar displays. Be surprised if he’s not on the scoresheet in this one.
Score Prediction: Burnley 2 – 2 West Bromwich Albion – Points to be shared as neither side will want to lose this one.
