The Shakhtar Donetsk striker’s proposed move to the Italian capital will end speculation over his future, which has been ongoing since it was reported he is likely to leave Ukraine once his contract expires at the end of the year.
Luiz Adriano has seen his reputation rise rapidly through his performances in the UEFA Champions League, with nine goals this season, currently ahead of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, who both have eight.

He is sure to add goals to the Roma attack if a move is confirmed. The Giallorossi were unable to strike a deal with Shakhtar in January after an €11 million bid was knocked back. Both Arsenal and Liverpool were reportedly interested in signing the Brazilian as well but seem to of fallen short.
Reports suggest Roma have a contract agreed with Luiz Adriano. The Roma frontline currently boasts Seydou Doumbia, who they signed in January, and former Arsenal wideman Gervinho but with Francesco Totti coming to the end of his illustrious career, the 28-year-old Shakhtar man could be a terrific addition to the Roma squad.
Liverpool could have benefited from the signing as a possible replacement for either Mario Balotelli or Ricky Lambert, who are both under pressure and likely to leave in the summer, but now it seems they need to be searching elsewhere for other striking options, as is the case for Arsenal.
Is a move to AS Roma better than a Premier League switch for Luiz Adriano?
