Manchester United are looking likely to win the race for Burnley striker Danny Ings when his contract expires at the end of the season, according to talkSPORT, and the Red Devils will look to beat Chelsea and Liverpool to his signature.
The 22-year-old English striker has impressed in the Premier League with Burnley this season, netting nine times with four assists, and is set to be rewarded with a big summer move.
Liverpool have been strongly linked with a move for Ings as Brendan Rodgers is looking to reshuffle his forward line this summer, while Chelsea and Spurs are also reportedly keen on signing him on a free at the end of the season.
But it is Louis Van Gaal and Manchester United who look to be the most attractive option for the England Under-21 star, and the club are reportedly in advanced talks for his services.Embed from Getty Images
United would likely have to pay Burnley around £5 million in compensation as Ings in under the age of 24 but that will not be a stumbling block.
The arrival of the Burnley star will spell the end for Colombian striker Radamel Falcao, who has struggled to impress in his only Premier League season, and he is set to return to AS Monaco at the end of his loan spell.
Robin Van Persie has also been linked with a move away, while Javier Hernandez is unlikely to return to Old Trafford, so strikers will be a priority for Van Gaal.
Would Danny Ings be a good signing for Manchester United?
