Manchester City star reiterates desire to move to MLS

Manchester City playmaker Samir Nasri has again commented on where he could play before his career comes to an end, and has once again talked up a possible MLS move.

The Frenchman, who signed a huge five-year contract last summer, is preparing for preseason training with City after missing chunks of last season through injury.

But that hasn’t stopped him looking further ahead into the future. AS Roma have been linked with a move for the former Arsenal man in recent times but Nasri has his eyes set on Major League Soccer.

“Going back to France? I don’t think so. I’d like to play in MLS because I love the culture in America,” he told Sky Sports in an in-depth interview. “Coaching? Why not? I’m going to start to take my badges soon so that when I finish I can look forward straight away.”

It’s not the first time the 27-year-old has gone out of his way to talk up a move stateside after admitting back in March that he would love to follow in Thierry Henry’s footsteps.

“I would like the MLS, like Thierry Henry. I love the lifestyle in the USA and everything about it.”

His immediate focus will be on City and trying to help them to regain their Premier League title that Chelsea stole away last term.

But Nasri clearly has one eye on MLS as a future move stateside looks a real possibility.

Would Samir Nasri become one of Major League Soccer’s best players were he to move?
