Another busy weekend of action is behind us as 25 goals were scored in the nine Week 16 games, with some surprise results changing the look of the MLSGB Power Rankings yet again.
We’re just one week away from the midpoint of the regular season and the rankings are still changing drastically on a weekly basis as inconsistency is costing several sides across the league.
The Seattle Sounders looked as if they’d made top spot theirs to keep but a 2-0 home loss to the San Jose Earthquakes, coupled with a DC United win against the New England Revolution sees DC return to the top of the Power Rankings this week.
Seattle fall to second place, with Vancouver climbing into third after a second consecutive away win as they won 2-1 at the New York Red Bulls.
Western Conference sides dominate the top ten in the rankings at this stage, with just two Eastern sides making it into the top half.
Real Salt Lake were this week’s biggest movers, climbing five places into tenth from last week’s rankings.
Chicago Fire remain rooted to the bottom of the league, and also bottom of the Power Rankings. Though New York City FC and Montreal Impact rose out of the bottom three this week after both earned impressive 2-0 victories.
Here’s how the MLSGB Power Rankings look after Week 16’s action:
