MLS Power Rankings: Week 20 – LA Galaxy climb as DC United fall again

It was another week of change as far as the Power Rankings go after just one of 11 matches ended as a draw.

There were a total of 29 goals over the 11 games, with Columbus Crew and Chicago Fire facing off against each other twice during Week 20, with the Crew winning both games to climb four places in our latest rankings.

Chicago still sit bottom of the pile and their chances of making the playoffs seem to fade further away with each passing week.

At the other end, Sporting Kansas City remain in first place after their 2-1 win over Montreal ensured they still have the best points-per-game record in MLS.

DC United have fallen for the second week in a row after another loss, this time away at FC Dallas, sees them end the week in fourth. Dallas climbed to second place and now lead the MLS Supporters’ Shield standings.

Seattle Sounders fall to seventh after their disappointing 1-0 loss at home to Colorado now means they have suffered defeat in five of their last six as the chances of retaining their Supporters’ Shield crown look slim at this point.

LA Galaxy on the other hand look to be reaching their best, with new signing Giovani Dos Santos’s impending arrival only set to make them more deadly.

They beat San Jose Earthquakes 5-2 on Friday night and move into fifth place in our latest Power Rankings as a result.

Here’s how the MLSGB Power Rankings look after Week 20’s action in MLS:
