Toronto come into the game off the back of their 3-1 loss in New England on Saturday, but haven’t lost at home in their last three and will be confident of picking up a result on Wednesday.
The Reds sit in fifth in the East, one point better off than Orlando in seventh, and can move as high as third with victory in this one.
Orlando ended a three-game losing streak with an emphatic 5-2 home win over the Columbus Crew on Saturday and will now look to kick on by winning their first road game in four attempts.
Adrian Heath’s side are still in contention to make the playoffs but must start winning on a more regular basis. They lost 2-0 at home to Toronto back in April and will be looking for revenge in Canada here.
Lions striker Cyle Larin is one goal away from beating the MLS rookie goalscoring record and would love to do so on home soil on Wednesday night.
Toronto have several injury worries as Mark Bloom, Nick Hagglund, Luke Moore and Clement Simonin are all ruled out. Michael Bradley and Ashtone Morgan are both doubts. Colleen Warner is suspended.
Orlando City will be without Kevin Molino, Tony Cascio, Brek Shea and Harrison Heath for the trip to Toronto. Cyle Larin should start up front as he looks to break the rookie goalscoring record.
Toronto FC’s last five: L/D/W/D/L
Orlando City’s last five: D/L/L/L/W
Key Stat: Orlando have conceded at least twice in each of their last four MLS matches.
Key Player: Sebastian Giovinco – The Italian forward will look to outshine Kaka on Wednesday and should do so, given his incredible form so far this season.
Toronto FC 2-1 Orlando City SC – Expecting Toronto to bounce back from their road defeat last time out with a home win in this one. Orlando’s poor away form could see them fall short in what should be a close fought contest.
