The Sounders have struggled for consistency so far in the 2016 campaign and as a result sit 9th in the Western Conference coming into the weekend.
Sigi Schmid’s side come into this tie off the back of their 3-1 loss away at Colorado in what was their fourth loss of the season. Seattle need to up their game if they are to ensure they don’t fall too far behind the top six.
This is the first of two consecutive home games for Seattle, giving them the chance to pick up some much needed points. Scoring goals has been a problem though, as they have only averaged a goal per game so far this season, so this is something they have to improve upon.
Columbus Crew have also found themselves lower than expected at the start of the 2016 campaign. They sit 7th in the Eastern Conference but have recently found form.
Crew SC come into this one off the back of their 1-0 home win against Houston Dynamo – their second win on the bounce.

Seattle Sounders have five injury concerns. Roman Torres remains out, while Clint Dempsey, Michael Farfan, Nelson Valdez and Andreas Ivanchitz are all doubts. Brad Evans is suspended for this tie following his red card last time out.
Columbus Crew have four injury concerns. Gaston Sauro, Tony Tchani, Corey Ashe and Mohammed Saeid are all doubts ahead of this tie.
