Orlando City vs Toronto FC Prediction Orlando vs Toronto Preview and Prediction

Competition: Major League Soccer – Orlando City vs. Toronto FC

Venue: Camping World Stadium – Saturday, June 25 – 19:30 ET (00:30 BST)

Match Odds: Orlando 11/8 – Draw 23/10 – Toronto 2/1

Match Preview

Orlando City host Toronto FC on Saturday night in a clash between two attacking Eastern Conference sides that will be looking to pick up after fairly poor runs of late.

Orlando have drawn three games in a row, so things aren’t going terribly. However, they are now outside the playoff places and have only won one of their last 11 games.

One boost for them is that they are a solid unit at home. The Lions are now unbeaten in 14 consecutive MLS home matches (6W 8D), and will look to keep that run going on Saturday.

Toronto come into this game off the back of last week’s 1-0 win over LA Galaxy. That result ended a winless run of four and moved the Reds back into contention in the East.

They come into the weekend in fifth place, seven points off Philadelphia at the top, and know that they need to find more consistency if they are to catch the Union.

This will be the fourth all-time MLS meeting between these two teams. Toronto FC have won the first three matches by a combined score of 11-1 and will be the more confident of the two as a result.

Team News

Orlando will be without Pedro Ribeiro and Darwin Ceren through injury, while Kaka remains a doubt with a thigh strain. Seb Hines will sit out after picking up too many yellow cards and will need to serve a one-game suspension as a result.

Toronto travel to Florida without Jozy Altidore, Daniel Lovitz and Ashtone Morgan, who are all still injured.

Key Points

Orlando’s last five: L/W/D/D/D

Toronto’s last five: L/D/D/L/W

Key Stat: Toronto FC is the joint-league leader in clean sheets in MLS with six, while Orlando City is tied with Portland for the fewest clean sheets so far this term with one.

Key Player: Sebastian Giovinco – The Italian striker will look to inspire his side to victory off the back of what has been a quiet spell, compared to his usually high standards. He hasn’t scored in five outings but has already found the net four times against Orlando since joining MLS.

Score Prediction

Orlando City 1-1 Toronto FC – Neither side has been able to put together a solid string of results and they might result in a cagey affair between two sides desperate for three points. Orlando are tough to break down at home but they have drawn three in a row and a fourth-straight draw looks the most likely here.
