Philadelphia Union vs Columbus Crew: Preview
Wednesday evening sees Philadelphia Union take on Columbus Crew for the second time in four days. The two are separated by eight points ahead of the game, with Columbus three places higher in the Eastern Conference.
Philadelphia lost 1-0 away at Columbus last Saturday. Their fans will be hoping they can overturn that result this week, however they face a tough task to do so.
The Union have been inconsistent this season and are 9th in the East as a result. They have lost two in a row, but have only lost one of their last seven home games, winning five.
Columbus Crew are 6th in the Eastern Conference coming into Week 21. They will want to make it back-to-back wins against Philadelphia on Wednesday evening. However, after their 1-0 win on Saturday evening, they know this is not going to be a walk in the park.
Gregg Berhalter will have his side well prepared for this game. Another three points here would put them up to 4th in the table, increasing their playoff hopes at a vital stage of the campaign.
Worryingly for Columbus they have only won one of their last five away games, losing the other four. But that win did come in their latest road trip, so they do have something to build on.
