It has been suggested that a fee of around £25 million would be commanded to sign the Bosnian, as he still has three years left on his current deal, and Liverpool are keeping tabs, according to the Daily Mail.
Although the Mirror have suggested that Chelsea are also in for Dzeko, and will try to sign him for as little as £10 million as they look to replace Didier Drogba.
Dzeko joined City from Wolfsburg in January 2011 for a reported £27 million fee. He has scored a total of 50 goals in 130 appearances for City in the Premier League.
Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko put in another poor performance in Monday night’s 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace as his exit from the club looks to be edging ever closer.
Manuel Pellegrini’s men were simply not clinical enough at Selhurst Park and that defeat leaves them nine points behind leaders Chelsea, who also have a game in hand.
Their chances of retaining their Premier League title are all but gone, and so is Bosnian striker Dzeko, after his terrible display on Monday night has left many fans calling for his departure this summer amidst interest from Serie A.
Dzeko has only scored four Premier League goals in 21 appearances this season and has not put in the performances to support his £27 million price tag that the club paid to sign him from Wolfsburg in 2011.
Monday night’s showing at Palace was one of his worst in a City shirt as he was hauled off after 65 minutes without even attempting a shot.

The 29-year-old forward failed to register a shot on goal, complete a dribble with the ball and could only complete 14 of his 27 passes.
Dzeko was dispossessed five times as well in what was a disappointing display. The Citizens actually improved when he was taken off and got the goal just 12 minutes after he was replaced by Frank Lampard.
City fans will be hoping to sell their striker this summer and despite the fact that he signed a new four-year deal last summer, AS Roma are reportedly keen on his services.
City could use the money from his sale to rebuild their side ahead of next season and one fan has even offered to pay for Dzeko’s flights out of England.
Manchester City come into the game with an opposite run of form, having won their last seven in all competitions, and are just three points off leaders Chelsea.
City do have a massive issue with who to play up front however, as they have no available first-team striker, while captain Vincent Kompany is also out.
Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic are all absent through injury and Manuel Pellegrini will have to resort to using 18-year-old Jose Pozo up top against the Eagles. He also played against Leicester in their last game.
This poses a problem for the champions and one that could see their proficiency drop dramatically as they have only failed to score on one occasion in the league this season, but the lack of a first-team forward could put them in trouble.
Palace on the other hand lay only one point above the relegation zone in 16th, and find themselves dropping down the league rapidly.
They have only won once away from home all season and will need to be at their best to undo the champions at home, with City expected to come out on top, even without a recognised striker.
Score Prediction: Manchester City 2-0 Crystal Palace – City to go level on points with Chelsea for at least two days.
Key Player: Frank Lampard – New York City midfielder Frank Lampard is proving he still has what it takes to perform at the top level as of late, and we expect him to prove the difference once again on Saturday.
