Venue: Turf Moor – Sunday, October 2 – 16:30 BST (11:30 ET)

Match Odds: Burnley 15/2 – Draw 19/5 – Arsenal 4/11

Match Preview

Burnley welcome Arsenal to Turf Moor in the final game of the Premier League weekend in a tie that has the makings of a cracker.

Burnley will be full of confidence. They were given little hope by many ahead of their game against Watford last time out, but won 2-0 and picked up a valuable three points.

Sean Dyche’s side sit 13th, already four points ahead of the bottom three. They must make Turf Moor a difficult place to visit to ensure they pick up as many points as possible early in the season.

Burnley know they’re in for a tough one this weekend. They have lost their last four games against Arsenal, but they will be looking to frustrate their opposition here and come away with a positive result.

Arsenal couldn’t be more confident heading into this tie. They destroyed Chelsea last weekend, ending a long winless run against their London rivals and will be looking to mount a title challenge off the back of that result.

Arsene Wenger will be pleased with how his side have performed over their last four league games, they have taken maximum points and scored 12 goals along the way.

Arsenal have to kick on and look to take all three points in games like this if they are to mount a successful title challenge this season.

The Gunners haven’t looked as dangerous and clinical in front of goal as they did last weekend for some time. If Burnley give them chances here they will be punished.

Team News

Burnley have just the one injury concern as Ashley Barnes looks set to remain out.

Arsenal still have a whole host of injuries. Aaron Ramsey, Danny Welbeck, Per Mertesacker, Carl Jenkinson, Olivier Giroud and Francis Coquelin are all expected to miss this tie.

Key Points

Burnley’s last five: W/L/D/L/W

Arsenal’s last five: D/W/W/W/W

Key Stat: Arsenal have won their last four matches against Burnley.

Key Player: Theo Walcott – The Englishman has been in fine form. He is thriving having Wenger’s confidence instilled in him and looks dangerous every time he comes forward.

Score Prediction

Burnley 1-3 Arsenal – This one looks like it has the makings of being one step too far for Burnley. They have looked bright in games this season and certainly don’t look set for struggles in the coming weeks so long as the squad remains fresh and morale stays high. Arsenal have to take all three points in this one to keep pace at the top.

Competition: Premier League – Tottenham Hotspur vs. Manchester City

Venue: White Hart Lane – Sunday, October 2 – 14:15 BST (09:15 ET)

Match Odds: Tottenham 11/5 – Draw 5/2 – Manchester City 23/20

Match Preview

Tottenham welcome Premier League leaders Manchester City to White Hart Lane on Sunday in the standout fixture of the weekend.

Spurs have enjoyed a strong start to the season and remain unbeaten, one of only two sides to do so, the other being Manchester City.

Mauricio Pochettino will be eager for his side to take three points here and signal their intent for the season and he has previous experience of how to beat a Pep Guardiola side.

Tottenham come into this one having won 2-1 away at Boro, another solid performance and their third league win on the bounce.

Manchester City are absolutely flying. They’re top of the league with maximum points from their first six games.

It is already looking like a case of ‘who can stop us’ from the City camp. Confidence is sky high and they look like a side who know they’re capable of winning the league.

Guardiola will have his players firmly grounded though. He will be expecting a very tough game here and anything other than 100% from his side would be unacceptable in his eyes.

City come into this one having seen off Swansea in a 3-1 win last weekend. It was another example of how comfortable they are looking but there is still room to improve for them in terms of discipline, as Nolito saw red for a moment of madness.

Team News

Tottenham Hotspur are expecting to be without both Harry Kane and Danny Rose for this tie, while Moussa Dembele, Moussa Sissoko and Eric Dier are all doubts.

Manchester City are without the suspended Nolito, while captain Vincent Kompany is sidelined following his latest injury setback. Kevin De Bruyne is expected to be out for around three weeks after picking up a hamstring injury, he will be a huge miss for City.

Key Points

Tottenham Hotspur’s last five: W/D/W/W/W

Manchester City’s last five: W/W/W/W/W

Key Stat: Sign of champions – Manchester City have won all six of their Premier League games this season.

Key Player: Raheem Sterling – The England international is thriving under Pep Guardiola. He looks full of confidence and dangerous with his direct, attacking play.

Score Prediction

Tottenham Hotspur 1-2 Manchester City – A cagey, tight affair looks likely for this one. Spurs will be up for the challenge but City have the squad depth and resilience under Pep to overcome the most difficult of challenges and this game will be exactly that.

Premier League Preview and Prediction: Burnley vs Watford

Competition: Premier League – Burnley  vs. Watford

Venue: Turf Moor – Monday, September 26 – 20:00 BST (15:00 ET)

Match Odds: Burnley 19/10 – Draw 11/5 – Watford 6/4

Match Preview

Burnley welcome Watford to Turf Moor on Monday evening in a history making tie, the first ever top flight meeting between these sides.

The Clarets have had a mixed bag of results in their opening five games and are sitting 16th in the table, they will be looking to get as many points on the board as early as possible to avoid being dragged into a relegation scrap.

Sean Dyche will be demanding more from his players even at this early stage. Their one win was a surprise result and it is these sort of games at home where they have to be looking to pick up points.

Burnley come into this one off the back of their 3-0 loss to Leicester, their second 3-0 loss of the season, goal difference can mean a lot not only for the standings, but also confidence. They have to tighten up at the back.

Watford will still be on cloud nine after their stunning 3-1 over United last weekend, they’ll be relishing this game and will feel like they can take on anyone at the moment.

However, it is important they’re not over-confident heading into this tie. It has been a good start to the season for Walter Mazzarri’s side but they have work to do to continue to build.

Watford have a poor record away at Burnley, they have not won in their last eight attempts, losing four and drawing four.

The Hornets have scored three or more goals in consecutive games in the Premier League for the first time. They now sit 9th and will be working towards remaining in the top ten for as long as possible.

Team News

Burnley have just the one injury concern ahead of this tie as Ashley Barnes is expected to be out.

Watford are expecting to be without Daryl Janmaat and Stefano Okaka, while there are some concerns over the fitness of Jerome Sinclair, Younes Kaboul and Jose Holebas.

Key Points

Watford’s last five: D/L/L/W/W

Key Stat: This is the first ever top flight meeting between these two sides.

Score Prediction

Burnley 0-2 Watford – Burnley’s winless run to extend to four games. Although they have looked bright in stages this season they have scored just four goals in their five league games. Watford will be full of confidence and have too much firepower for Burnley.

Premier League Preview and Prediction: Arsenal vs Chelsea

Competition: Premier League – Arsenal vs. Chelsea

Venue: Emirates Stadium – Saturday, September 24 – 17:30 BST (12:30 ET)

Match Odds: Arsenal 13/10 – Draw 5/2 – Chelsea 19/10

Match Preview

Arsenal welcome their London rivals Chelsea to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening in the standout fixture of the Premier League weekend.

Arsenal seem to have got over their slow start in their opening two games and have now won three league games on the bounce.

The Gunners come into this one level on points with Chelsea, but are ahead in table on goal difference, they will be keen to continue their winning run here.

Arsenal advanced in the EFL Cup in midweek with a convincing win 4-0 win and they won 4-1 against Hull last weekend, so confidence is high among Arsene Wenger’s men.

Chelsea bounced back from their defeat against Liverpool last weekend with a 4-2 over Leicester in the EFL Cup in midweek.

It looked like Antonio Conte’s side were going to lose their second on the bounce before really turning on the style in midweek, with practically every attack coming through Cesc Fabregas.

Chelsea haven’t won in two in the league and, like Arsenal, are already five points off the top. This is a must win game for both sides.

The Blues haven’t lost in their last nine Premier League games against Arsenal and haven’t even conceded in the last six of those. This is going to be a tough tie and that run of clean sheets against their rivals looks likely to come to an end here considering how easily their defence has been breached this season.

Team News

Arsenal’s season is already being troubled by injuries, an all too familiar story for their fans. Olivier Giroud, Per Mertesacker, Danny Welbeck, Aaron Ramsey, Carl Jenkinson, and Gabriel Paulista are all expected to miss out here.

Chelsea are still expecting to be without Kurt Zouma, while there is still no word on a return date for captain John Terry.

Key Points

Arsenal’s last five: L/D/W/W/W

Chelsea’s last five: W/W/W/D/L

Key Stat: Chelsea haven’t conceded a goal against Arsenal in the last six Premier League meetings between the sides.

Key Player: Diego Costa – The Chelsea forward has already bagged five goals this season. He has previous with Arsenal and isn’t popular among their fans. He is Chelsea’s best chance of coming away with all three points in this one.

Score Prediction

Arsenal 2-1 Chelsea – Arsenal to bring their winless and goalless run against Chelsea to an end here. The Gunners are in fine form now, while Chelsea are still struggling defensively. Like the majority of games from this fixture down the years, we can expect action and controversy all the while Diego Costa is on the field.

Premier League Preview and Prediction: Watford vs Manchester United

Competition: Premier League – Watford FC Vs. Manchester United

Venue: Vicarage Road – Sunday, Septemer 18 – 12:00 BST (07:00 ET)

Match Odds: Watford 5/1 – Draw 3/1 – Manchester United 8/15

Match Preview

Watford welcome Manchester United to Vicarage Road in the first game of an action packed round of Premier League fixtures this Sunday.

The Hornets picked up their first win of the season last weekend as they came from 2-0 down to beat West Ham 4-2.

Walter Mazzarri will be delighted with how his side responded in that tie, they could have easily let their heads drop and been on the receiving end of a thumping.

This is going to be a tough tie for Watford but they will be looking to exploit Manchester United’s defence, who have looked suspect at times this season.

Embed from Getty Images

Manchester United come into this tie having lost in the Manchester Derby and Europa League in midweek, two results they would not have expected.

The response from United in the derby last weekend was positive. Despite not taking anything from the game they looked likely to be pushed back into an embarrassing defeat for large parts of the first half.

Jose Mourinho needs his side to bounce back with a convincing win here to avoid risking more criticism, United have been bemoaned for a lack of quality by many pundits and fans alike already this season.

United need their big-name players to step up and perform. They are giving opponents far too many opportunities in games at the moment, but it is going to take time for all their summer changes to fall into place.

Team News

Brice Dja Djedje is Watford’s only injury concern ahead of this tie.

Manchester United have two doubts for this one as Luke Shaw and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have knocks, while Wayne Rooney, Antonio Valencia will return to the squad after being left at home for their Europa League tie.

Key Points

Watford’s form: D/L/L/W

Manchester United’s form: W/W/W/L

Key Stat: Manchester United have won their last eight matches against Watford in all competitions.

Key Player: Marcus Rashford – The United starlet would have given the City defence more of a headache last weekend had he not been on the bench to begin with. He may not start in this one but he certainly has the class to make an impact in any game.

Embed from Getty Images

Score Prediction

Watford 1-3 Manchester United – Watford’s winless run against Manchester United to continue. They definitely have the players and ability to get at the United defence, but with the squad depth and world-class players at Mourinho’s disposal, they should be winning this game. If United lose this tie and results go against them, they could be as many as six points behind the leaders.

Premier League Preview and Prediction: Chelsea vs Liverpool

Competition: Premier League – Chelsea vs. Liverpool

Venue: Stamford Bridge – Friday, September 16 – 20:00 BST (15:00 ET)

Match Odds: Chelsea 5/4 – Draw 5/2 – Liverpool 2/1

Match Preview

Chelsea welcome Liverpool to Stamford Bridge on Friday night in a game that is one you usually do not want to miss.

Chelsea come into this one having drawn in their controversial game against Swansea. Regardless of what happened in that tie, Chelsea should not have allowed their opponents back into the game.

Despite drawing 2-2, there were a lot of positives for Chelsea. They created a huge amount of chances and a number of their players are relishing life under Antonio Conte.

This is arguably Chelsea’s toughest tie of the season so far and they are welcoming a Liverpool side who have been scoring freely.

Liverpool come into this one having demolished Leicester 4-1 last weekend. Jurgen Klopp’s side looked dangerous in the final third but conceded through a shocking defensive error.

Although Liverpool have scored nine goals in the Premier League this season, they have conceded seven. This will be a concern for Klopp as they face a Chelsea side who have averaged at least two goals a game in their opening four league games.

Liverpool won their last Premier League visit to Stamford Bridge but know they are facing a very different Chelsea side this time around.

This game has the makings of a cracker. In their eight matches combined this season, Liverpool and Chelsea have overseen 29 goals scored/conceded.

Team News

Chelsea have two injury concerns heading into this tie. Kurt Zouma remains out and captain John Terry is unavailable after rolling his ankle late on against Swansea, which is a huge blow for Chelsea. David Luiz is in line to make his second Chelsea debut in Terry’s absence.

Liverpool are expected to be without Emre Can, while Mamadou Sakho and Joseph Gomez are both doubts.

Key Points

Chelsea’s form: W/W/W/D

Liverpool’s form: W/L/D/W

Key Stat: Home form – Chelsea are unbeaten in 12 of their last 13 games at Stamford Bridge.

Key Player: Diego Costa – The controversial Spaniard has netted in every game in the Premier League so far this season. He looks to be at his confident best and he’ll be looking to cause havoc to a Liverpool defence that has looked suspect at times in their opening four league games.

Embed from Getty Images

Score Prediction

Chelsea 1-1 Liverpool – Both of these sides have been playing in incredibly intense, end-to-end games this season and at some point the pace is bound to drop slightly. Chelsea could well have a slightly more cautious approach considering how their second half unfolded against Swansea, while Liverpool will not want to give Chelsea as many opportunities as they have to opponents so far this season.

Premier League Preview and Prediction: Swansea City vs Chelsea

Competition: Premier League – Swansea City vs. Chelsea

Venue: Liberty Stadium – Sunday, September 11 – 16:00 BST (09:00 ET)

Match Odds: Swansea City 4/1 – Draw 29/10 – Chelsea 4/6

Match Preview

Swansea City welcome Chelsea to the Liberty Stadium on Sunday afternoon in the penultimate game of the Premier League weekend.

The Swans have lost their last two and will be low on confidence coming into this tie. They started the season with a win but fell to a 2-1 defeat against Leicester in their last outing.

Francesco Guidolin will be looking for his side to frustrate Chelsea in this one. This is going to be a tough tie for Swansea and they will have to pick their moments right against a Chelsea side who have started the season well.

The last meeting between these two at the Liberty ended with a 1-0 win for Swansea, they will hope for a similar performance but this is a different Chelsea side to that of last season.

Chelsea have picked up maximum points from their opening three games and will be feeling confident of making it four wins from four here.

Antonio Conte will be pleased with how his side have adapted to his tactics and it is clear to see his passion is rubbing off on the side.

Chelsea’s key players have stepped back up to the levels they were showing before their nightmare season last time around and they will be looking to continue to send out a message to the rest of the league this weekend.

So long as Chelsea remain focused and perform how they have in their previous three games a win should be within their grasp here, but they cannot take anything for granted and know they will be in for a tricky afternoon.

Team News

Borja Baston is the only player Swansea are expecting to be without in this tie.

Kurt Zouma remains Chelsea’s only player out through injury ahead of this one. Conte now has the option of whether or not to start new signings David Luiz and Marcos Alonso, to see both start would be a surprise considering they have had limited training sessions alongside the full squad.

Key Points

Swansea City’s form: W/L/L

Chelsea’s form: W/W/W

Key Stat: Chelsea have scored at least two goals in each of their three games in the Premier League so far this season, compared to Swansea’s two goals overall.

Key Player: Eden Hazard – The Chelsea star is looking like he is hitting the form he is known for, when he’s in the mood he’s near impossible to stop

Score Prediction

Swansea City 0-2 Chelsea – Chelsea to continue their run of form and consistency of scoring at least two goals. This could be a long afternoon for Swansea if Chelsea perform like their fans know they can.

Premier League Preview and Prediction: Liverpool vs Leicester City

Competition: Premier League – Liverpool vs. Leicester City

Venue: Anfield – Saturday, September 10 – 17:30 BST (12:30 ET)

Match Odds: Liverpool 8/13 – Draw 3/1 – Leicester 17/4

Match Preview

Liverpool welcome reigning Premier League champions Leicester City to Anfield on Saturday evening in a tie that has the makings of one not to miss.

Jurgen Klopp will be expecting more from his side than they have already shown this season. They’re sitting 11th on four points.

Liverpool come into this one having picked up a point in their 1-1 draw with Spurs, a game they looked like they could have gone on to win, but a solid result nonetheless.

This will be test for Liverpool but they will fancy their chances, they are unbeaten in their last eight home games and have a strong record against Leicester at Anfield.

Leicester have had a solid start to their title defence but unsurprisingly look a little off the pace compared to the big-spenders in the transfer window.

Claudio Ranieri’s side come into this one having picked up a convincing win over Swansea at home and will want to get on a run of form now.

Leicester’s response to losing their opener has been impressive and they have looked more like the side that won the league in their last two games.

This is going to be a tough season for Leicester but they know what they’re capable of and will not be fearing travelling to any side.

Team News

Liverpool are expecting to be without Emre Can, Joe Gomez and Mamadou Sakho for this tie.

Leicester City have just two injury concerns ahead of this tie as Jeffrey Schlupp and Nampalys Mendy are both expected to remain out.

Key Points

Liverpool’s form: W/L/D

Leicester City’s form: L/D/W

Key Stat: Liverpool are unbeaten at home to Leicester in the last five meetings between the sides at Anfield.

Key Player: Phillippe Coutinho – The Liverpool playmaker will be looking to unlock a solid Leicester defence. As we know, he likes a long-range effort so we can expect to see him take on any opportunity he feels is worth trying.

Embed from Getty Images

Score Prediction

Liverpool 2-2 Leicester City – Neither side will make this easy for the other. Liverpool have been impressive at home but being under pressure suits Leicester and they will be looking forward to counter-attacking a defence who have looked vulnerable so far this season.

Premier League Preview and Prediction: Manchester City vs West Ham United

Competition: Premier League – Manchester City vs. West Ham United

Venue: Etihad Stadium – Sunday, August 28 – 16:00 BST (11:00 ET)

Match Odds: Man City 2/7 – Draw 9/2 – West Ham 9/1

Match Preview

Manchester City welcome West Ham United to the Etihad on Sunday afternoon in what they will be hoping is a relatively straightforward tie.

City are top of the league on goals scored and we can expect them to be a fierce competitor for the Premier League title this season.

They come into this one off the back of their 4-1 thumping of Stoke last weekend, an impressive performance that had the real look of a Pep Guardiola side.

City will be keen to continue racking up the goals here in order to remain the early pace setters in the league this season. Home form is something Guardiola sides are renowned for, he will be expecting a tough tie but nothing less than three points from this game.

Embed from Getty Images

West Ham United bounced back from their opening day defeat to pick up a late win over Bournemouth in their first league game at the London Stadium last time out.

Slaven Bilic’s squad is stretched by injuries and fitness concerns to his key players even this early on in the season, he will be hoping to make a couple of extra signings before the window closes.

The Hammers have struggled away against Manchester City but did win in this fixture last season, they will be looking to frustrate their opponents in this tie but will be expecting to see little of the ball.

West Ham will be hoping to bounce back from being knocked out of Europe on Thursday with a positive result here, but the fans will be bracing themselves for a disappointing week as they take on arguably the strongest squad in the league.

Team News

Manchester City could be without up to five through injury as Vincent Kompany, Ilkay Gündogan, Leroy Sané are all out, while Bacary Sagna and Kelechi Iheanacho are both doubts. New signing Claudio Bravo isn’t expected to make his debut this week so we can expect Willy Caballero to return to the starting XI following what appeared to be Joe Hart’s farewell in the Champions League in midweek.

West Ham have eight injury concerns heading into this tie as Aaron Cresswell, Diafra Sakho, André Ayew and Andy Carroll are all expected to be out, while Dimitri Payet, Manuel Lanzini, Sofiane Feghouli and Håvard Nordtveit are all doubts.

Key Points

Manchester City’s form: W/W

West Ham United’s form: L/W

Key Stat: Manchester City have lost only one of their last ten Premier League games against West Ham at home, winning eight and drawing one.

Key Player: Sergio Aguero – The City goal machine has scored 37 goals in 47 Premier League games against London teams. He has an eye for goal against West Ham with six in eight league appearances.

Embed from Getty Images

Score Prediction

Manchester City 3-1 West Ham United – Manchester City should be taking all three points in the majority of their home games this season if we are to believe that Guardiola is the real deal and this game is no exception. West Ham United have a squad that is being stretched through injuries and fitness issues but will still be able to cause City problems here, just not enough to win the game.

Premier League Preview and Prediction: Hull City vs Manchester United

Competition: Premier League – Hull City vs. Manchester United

Venue: KCOM Stadium – Saturday, August 27 – 17:30 BST (12:30 ET)

Match Odds: Hull 7/1 – Draw 16/5 – Manchester United 4/9

Match Preview

Surprise early season high-flying Hull City welcome Manchester United to KCOM Stadium as one of these sides will lose their 100% record this weekend.

Hull have defied the odds in their opening two games, winning both, and are one of only four teams to have picked up six points.

Their last Premier League outing was against Swansea, where some ruthless finishing in the last quarter of an hour saw them come away 2-0 winners.

At some point Hull’s squad will begin to feel the pressure due to a lack of depth and injuries, but for the moment they can enjoy each game and they’ll be full confidence. A strong start to the season is all Mike Phelan would have hoped for and he has got exactly that.

Embed from Getty Images

Manchester United have looked very comfortable in their opening two games. They are giving off the real impression of a typical Jose Mourinho side and although they will be expecting a tough tie, they’ll feel anything less than three points this time out is not good enough.

United will be keen to push their way to the top of the table as early on as possible this season, they trail City on goals scored but have the same goal difference as their neighbours. Mourinho loves his side to be pace setters rather than chasers.

Mourinho’s new signings have dovetailed nicely with the rest of the squad so far and their direct approaching is working well.

United have scored at least two goals in their last four Premier League outings and you wouldn’t bet against them repeating that this weekend. They have a strong bench to change things up if they aren’t getting any joy in this tie.

Embed from Getty Images

Team News

Hull City are still light on the ground. Centre back partners Alex Bruce and Michael Dawson remain injured, while Moses Odubajo and Allan McGregor are also both still out. Josh Tymon, Harry Maguire and Greg Luer are all doubts.

Manchester United have no injury concerns so we can expect a very similar lineup from Mourinho in this tie.

Key Points

Hull City’s last five: W/W

Manchester United’s last five: W/W

Key Stat: Manchester United have never lost to Hull City in the Premier League, winning eight and drawing the other.

Key Player: Zlatan Ibrahimovic – The big Swede has been exactly what United needed in his opening two league games, he’ll be itching to keep his scoring run going and prove to any doubters why they are wrong.

Score Prediction

Hull City 1-3 Manchester United – Hull deserve a lot of credit for their performances so far this season and they’ve been good value in front of goal but they’ll be able to do little to stop the power of United here. An entertaining one with a result many would predict.
