Premier League Preview and Prediction: Leicester City vs Chelsea

Competition: Premier League – Leicester City FC vs. Chelsea

Venue: King Power Stadium – Saturday, January 14 – 17:30 GMT (12:30 ET)

Match Odds: Leicester 9/2 – Draw 29/10 – Chelsea 8/13

Match Preview

Leicester welcome Chelsea to the King Power Stadium on Saturday evening in a game, a tie between two teams with reversed roles compared to last season.

This time last year Chelsea were loitering in mid-table, while Leicester were well underway to completing the seemingly impossible. The foxes are struggling to recapture their from from 2015/16 and are currently just six points above the relegation zone.

Claudio Ranieri will be hoping his side can pick up a positive result against his former employers, who have already been tipped to be crowned Premier League champions only halfway through the season.

Leicester’s last Premier League fixture ended 0-0 away at Boro, they look to have turned over a new leaf, having also progressed in the FA Cup with an impressive win away at Everton.

Antonio Conte’s side bounced back well after their 13 game-winning streak was brought to an abrupt halt at the hands of Spurs in their last Premier League outing.

Chelsea responded well, having also progressed in the cup and now their attentions turn to reminding the chasing pack just how clinical they have been this season.

The Blues are only five points clear at the top and with some very tough fixtures coming up, there is much work to be done.

The Chelsea fans will be hoping their star players will be feeling fresh following a rest in their cup tie. They looked off the pace in their last fixture and an impressive display here will continue to strike fear into their competitors.

Team News

Leicester City’s forward options are limited ahead of this tie. Islam Slimani and Riyad Mahrez are both at the African Cup of Nations, while there are doubts around the fitness of Jamie Vardy and Leonardo Ulloa. Daniel Amartey is also at AFCON, while Andy King could miss out through fitness.

Chelsea will be without captain John Terry following his dismissal in their FA Cup win last weekend, his appeal was unsuccessful and the ban was upheld. However, the former England captain would have most certainly returned to the bench had he been available for selection. Marcos Alonso is Chelsea’s only injury concern, he is a doubt.

Key Points

Leicester’s last five: L/D/L/W/D

Chelsea’s last five: W/W/W/W/L

Key Stat: Domination – Chelsea are unbeaten against Leicester in 11 of their last 12 meetings in all competitions.

Key Player: N’Golo Kante – This is a huge game for arguably the most important Premier League midfielder. It marks his return to the King Power since winning the league with Leicester last season. He will need to remain focused regardless of whatever reception he receives.

Score Prediction

Leicester City 1-2 Chelsea – Leicester City to fall short here. They are missing a number of key players and face a Chelsea side who have been in scintillating form. Chelsea have conceded five goals in their last three games, their defence had only been breached twice in nine games previous to that run, so Leicester will feel they have a chance of finding the back of the net here.

Premier League Preview and Prediction: Chelsea vs Leicester City

Competition: Premier League – Chelsea FC vs. Leicester City FC

Venue: Stamford Bridge – Saturday, October 15 – 12:30 BST (07:30 ET)

Match Odds: Chelsea 4/7 – Draw 16/5 – Leicester 9/2

Match Preview

Chelsea welcome champions Leicester to Stamford Bridge on Saturday in the opening game of the Premier League fixtures this weekend.

The Blues are clearly still in a rebuilding phase after last season. They have looked inconsistent and vulnerable in a number of games already.

Antonio Conte’s side won 2-0 away at Hull in their last Premier League outing, three points they desperately needed, having lost their previous two games.

Chelsea are already a way off the pace in the title race. They’re sitting 7th, five points off the top and three outside of the top four.

Leicester City are also in a run of unfavourable form. They have won just two of their seven games this season and are just four points above the relegation zone.

The Foxes have struggled against the so-called ‘big sides’ this season and have failed to pick up points in games they seemed to breeze through in their title-winning campaign.

Claudio Ranieri’s side come into this one having drawn 0-0 against Southampton. Although Leicester are performing well in the Champions League, they are struggling to relay that form domestically.

Leicester have to see this as a tie they can pick up a positive result in. Chelsea conceded twice in their last league game at Stamford Bridge and have looked shaky defensively.

Team News

Chelsea are expected to be handed a defensive boost with the return of their captain John Terry. Kurt Zouma and John Obi Mikel are both expected to be out, while Victor Moses is a doubt. Willian is unavailable for selection due the passing of his mother this week.

Leicester City’s squad is in good shape for this tie. They are only expecting to be without Matthew James, so Claudio Ranieri has the luxury of a strong bench regardless of what starting XI he selects.

Key Points

Chelsea’s last five: W/D/L/L/W

Leicester’s last five: W/L/W/L/D

Key Stat: These two sides have been inconsistent in their last five games, picking up the same amount of points (7).

Key Player: Diego Costa – The Premier League’s leading goal scorer this season has been in fine form. Costa has netted six times

Score Prediction

Chelsea 1-1 Leicester – Chelsea to come unstuck at home once again. They are looking far better than last season but defensive problems are there for all to see. Leicester need to begin picking up points to avoid being drawn into a rut of form. This would be a good result for Ranieri’s side, who posses the ability to damage Chelsea on the counter attack.

Premier League Preview and Prediction: Leicester City vs Arsenal

Competition: Premier League – Leicester City vs. Arsenal

Venue: King Power Stadium – Saturday, August 20 – 17:30 BST (12:30 ET)

Match Odds: Leicester 19/10 – Draw 13/5 – Arsenal 13/10

Match Preview

Leicester City welcome Arsenal to the King Power Stadium late on Saturday afternoon in a tie both sides will be desperate to win after disappointing opening weekend performances.

The champions come into this one off the back of their 2-1 defeat to Hull, a result that not many would have predicted.

Claudio Ranieri’s side looked stuck for ideas on how to break down their resilient opponents. They may well be better suited to this tie as it will be more open, meaning they will have more chances to express their counter-attacking play.

Leicester will be looking to exact some revenge on Arsenal as they were thumped 5-2 by the North London side at home last season.

Arsenal’s 4-3 loss in their opener against Liverpool has heaped more pressure on Arsene Wenger. It’s clear they have what it takes to break opponents down as they scored three, but the biggest concern for fans is their lacklustre defence.

Wenger’s injury list just seems to keep on expanding and another week has passed without any transfer activity at the club.

Arsenal come into this one under the spotlight. They cannot afford to lose their opening two games for the risk of already being six points behind their title rivals.

Worryingly for Arsenal they face a Leicester side who had impeccable home form in their title campaign. The Gunners drew their final three away games in the Premier League last season so it will be interesting to see if they can break that trend and take all three points here.

Team News

Leicester City have no injury concerns. Ranieri will more than likely opt for a similar starting lineup as he did against Hull. The Foxes have had a huge boost this week as Riyad Mahrez penned a contract extension, ending any uncertainty over his future.

Arsenal’s squad is still taking shape. As we know Laurent Koscielny, Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud returned to training late after Euro 2016. On top of Arsenal’s current injury list of Per Mertesacker, Gabriel Paulista, Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck and Carl Jenkinson, both Aaron Ramsey and Alex Iwobi were forced off in the game against Liverpool. The two latest setbacks increased their injury list to seven players and Arsenal could have up to ten players out here, including the trio who returned late from the Euros.

Key Points

Leicester City’s last five: L

Arsenal’s last five: L

Key Stat: Fortress – Leicester City are unbeaten in their last 15 home outings in the Premier League.

Key Player: Alexis Sanchez – There will be added pressure on Arsenal after their opening day defeat and they need their key players to work even harder considering how many regulars are absent. Sanchez has the ability to cut apart any defence and he will be expected to provide in this one.

Score Prediction

Leicester City 1-2 Arsenal – Arsenal to get off the mark and narrowly beat a Leicester side who would not have been expecting to lose their first two games of the 2016/17 Premier League season.

Premier League Preview and Prediction: Manchester United vs Leicester City

Competition: Premier League – Manchester United vs. Leicester City

Venue: Old Trafford – Sunday, May 1st – 14:05 GMT (09:05 ET)

Match Odds: Man United 1/1 – Draw 23/10 – Leicester 29/10

Match Preview

Manchester United welcome Leicester City to Old Trafford in what could be the day Claudio Ranieri’s side make history and win the Premier League.

United’s last Premier League game was their 2-0 win over Crystal Palace. There is still a chance for them to finish in the top four, they sit five points behind but they do have a game in hand. The Red Devils are reliant on other results going their way.

Louis Van Gaal’s side will be full of confidence having dramatically reached the FA Cup Final last weekend, giving them a great chance of silverware this season.

Manchester United have won their last six home matches against Leicester so the away side will have to break that trend if they are to be crowned champions this weekend.

Embed from Getty Images

Leicester City extended their unbeaten run to seven games last weekend with their 4-0 demolition over Swansea.

Ranieri’s side are within touching distance of the Premier League title, but only all three points will secure the silverware this weekend.

Leicester have won six of their last seven league games and kept six clean sheets along the way. We can expect them to be as difficult as ever to break down here.

A win here would cap off what has been an amazing season for Leicester, they have been in good form away, winning three on the bounce.

Team News

Manchester United could be without up to five through injury as Bastian Schweinsteiger, Adnan Januzaj, Luke Shaw and Will Keane are all ruled out, while Phil Jones is a doubt.

Leicester City are still expected to be without Matthew James through injury, while Jamie Vardy is serving the additional game of his suspension.

Key Points

Manchester United’s last five Premier League games: W/W/L/W/W

Leicester City’s last five Premier League games: W/W/W/D/W

Key Stat: Manchester United have won their last six home matches in the Premier League.

Key Player: Kasper Schmeichel – The Danish ‘keeper could follow in his fathers footsteps and win the Premier League title at Old Trafford. We can expect both ‘keepers to be busy but Schmeichel’s performances have been an integral part of Leicester’s chase for the title. He has kept seven clean sheets in his last ten league games.

Score Prediction

Manchester United 0-0 Leicester City – The champagne will have to stay on ice for at least another week for Leicester City. This will be a very tight tie with neither side looking weak at the back. Manchester United will have to do something not many sides have successfully achieved over the course of the season and break Leicester down. With both goalkeepers in fantastic form they will be the stars of the show here.

Premier League Preview and Prediction: Leicester vs Swansea

Competition: Premier League – Leicester City vs. Swansea City

Venue: King Power Stadium – Sunday, April, 24 – 16:15 BST (11:15 ET)

Match Odds: Leicester City 8/11 – Draw 5/2 – Swansea City 4/1

Match Preview

Leicester City face Swansea City as they look to strengthen their grip the Premier League title on Sunday with the end of the season drawing ever closer.

Leicester are unbeaten in their last eight league matches, but did drop two points in their 2-2 draw with West Ham last week, as Tottenham closed the gap at the top to five points following their win at Stoke on Monday.

Embed from Getty Images

Jamie Vardy was sent off against West Ham last weekend and his absence may cause problems for Claudio Ranieri’s men. The striker has been effective at turning defences and running in behind and the loss of energy up top could affect the Foxes a lot on Sunday as the England striker sits out of his first league game this season.

The Foxes have showed spirit and fight all year and will need to display their tenacity, along with quality, through the final four matches of the season to seal a miracle title.

Swansea have arguably nothing to play for, as their Premier League status seems all but secure with the Swans sitting ten points above the drop with four to play.

They may have only lost one of their last four, but this season is one to forget for Swansea. They are building for next year and should be playing for the fans so a win wouldn’t be beyond them on Sunday.

Embed from Getty Images

They have the quality to cause Leicester problems and will be desperate to get one over on the Foxes following the 3-0 home defeat earlier in the season

The problem for Swansea is they haven’t won away at Leicester since 1950 and so history, as well as form, is heavily against them this weekend.

Team News

Leicester City have no injury worries for the clash but Jamie Vardy is suspended so Shinji Okazaki and Leonardo Ulloa are expected to play up front if Claudio Ranieri sticks to the usual 4-4-2 formation.

Swansea City have a full squad available and an unchanged side is expected to be named.

Key Points

Leicester City’s last five: W/W/W/W/D

Swansea City’s last five: L/W/D/W/L

Key Stat: Swansea City haven’t won any of their last eleven visits to Leicester.

Key Player: Riyad Mahrez – The Algerian winger will need to step up as Jamie Vardy is suspended and their counter-attacking style will be tested without Vardy running in behind. A lot lies on the PFA Player of the Year favourite, but Mahrez has shown this season that he has the skill to turn games in a flash.

Score Prediction

Leicester City 2-1 Swansea City – This is a game Leicester will have to win if they are to win the title and we expect them to make it over the line. Swansea should give them a test, but will more than likely come up short against a spirited outfit looking to cope without Vardy.

Premier League Preview and Prediction: Leicester vs Southampton

Competition: Premier League – Leicester City vs. Southampton

Venue: King Power Stadium – Sunday, April 3 – 13:30 BST (08:30 ET)

Match Odds: Leicester 23/20 – Draw 23/10 – Southampton 12/5

Match Preview

Leicester host Southampton on Sunday afternoon as they look to further strengthen their title bid following the international break.

The Foxes enter the weekend five points clear of Tottenham, though that margin could be reduced to two if Spurs beat Liverpool on Saturday evening.

Regardless of the Tottenham result, Claudio Ranieri will expect his side to take full advantage of this home fixture by securing three more important points.

Embed from Getty Images

The worry for Leicester will be that goals have proven hard to come by of late. They may have won their last three games but all three victories came by 1-0 scorelines and so finding the net more regularly will be the main objective.

Southampton still have lots to play for themselves heading into Sunday’s game. They are only four points off fourth-placed Manchester City and are looking for a third consecutive win here.

Ronald Koeman’s side picked up a remarkable win over Liverpool last time out, coming from 2-0 down to seal a 3-2 victory, and that spirit will be needed for the remainder of the campaign if they are to push for European football.

Embed from Getty Images

The reverse fixture ended 2-2 at St Mary’s and another goal-fest cannot be ruled out here. Both have lots to play for and so this should be a captivating watch.

Team News

Leicester have no fresh injury concerns and will be at full strength once again as they resume their title charge here. Matthew James is the only player out injured and Ranieri could name an unchanged side to the team that beat Crystal Palace last time out.

Southampton will be sweating over the fitness of Ryan Bertrand, who withdrew from the England squad with a knee problem. Charlie Austin is definitely out, while Florin Gardos and Jay Rodriguez are still lacking fitness. Sadio Mane and Victor Wanyama could come into the starting lineup.

Key Points

Leicester’s last five: W/D/W/W/W

Southampton’s last five: L/L/D/W/W

Key Stat: Leicester have only won one of their last eight Premier League games against Southampton (D4 L3)

Key Player: Jamie Vardy – Goals haven’t been coming as regularly as they were for Vardy at club level. But his fine performances for England over the international break could turn that form around and he will hope to find the net for the first time in six league games here.

Embed from Getty Images

Score Prediction

Leicester 0-0 Southampton – This looks set to be a close-fought battle between two teams with plenty to play for. Leicester have not looked as dangerous in recent weeks, despite winning their last three, and might have to settle for a point against a Southampton team that showed great spirit last time out.

International Friendly Preview and Prediction: Germany vs England

Competition: International Friendly – Germany vs England

Venue: Olympiastadion, Germany – Saturday, March 26 – 19:45 GMT (15:45 ET)

Match Odds: Germany 8/13 – Draw 29/10 – England 17/4

Match Preview

Three-time European Championship winners and current World champions Germany welcome England to the Olympiastadion on Saturday evening in a friendly tie that should be full of action.

The footballing machine that is Germany are arguably the best national team in the world at the moment and have a squad brimming with confidence.

They do however come into this friendly off the back of a 2-0 loss to France last time out in a game that will live long in the memory of players and fans alike for heartbreaking and disastrous reasons off the field.

This should be a good test for Germany ahead of the Euro’s and a tie for all to enjoy. They face Italy next so it’s going to be a tough international break for Joachim Löw’s side. Germany have won three of the last four meetings between these sides and will expect home advantage to help them through.

Embed from Getty Images

England have a lot to be optimistic about heading into this tie in what is a new era for Roy Hodgson’s side. There are a lot of young and upcoming top talents in the squad and two exciting goal-machines upfront in the form of Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy – the Premier League’s top two goalscorers.

Hodgson will be able to test out some different variations in this tie and it will again provide a test for the squad he has chosen. This will be also be a tough international break for England, as they face the Netherlands three days after this outing, so rotation is expected throughout.

England also played France in their last outing but they had a more favourable result, winning 2-0 at Wembley.

Hodgson’s side are held in high regard by Löw, who expects them to challenge to win Euro 2016 in France this summer, so this is a great chance to prove to any doubters England are more than capable of causing problems for the very best.

Team News

The German squad is as strong as ever, with some of the highest regarded players once again earning a call up. The fierce attacking options at Löw’s disposal are frightening, with the likes of Thomas Muller, Marco Reus, Mesut Ozil and Karim Bellarabi expecting to start in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Toni Kroos and Sami Khedira are expecting to fill the holding role, with Mats Hummels and Shkodran Mustafi in line to feature as the centre-back paring. Familiar faces included in the squad such as Andre Schurrle, Mario Gotze, Mario Gomez and Emre Can will all be pushing to feature. Bastain Schweinsteiger has been ruled out through injury.

England are without regular goalkeeper Joe Hart, so Jack Butland is expected to start. The Tottenham Hotspur contingency in the squad, Kyle Walker, Danny Rose, Dele Alli, Eric Dier and Harry Kane will hope their fine Premier League performances this season will be enough to gain some minutes in this tie. Hodgson has a solid squad heading into the clash with the likes of Jamie Vardy, James Milner, Chris Smalling and Jordan Henderson all having consistent domestic seasons. Danny Drinkwater will be itching to make his senior England debut and what a game it could be for him to feature in. Wayne Rooney and Raheem Sterling are both out through injury.

Key Points

Germany’s last five: W/W/L/W/L

England’s last five: W/W/W/L/W

Key Stat: England have only lost once in their last 17 games.

Key Player: Manuel Neuer – The German ‘keeper, widely regarded as the best in the world and equally as good with the ball at his feet, will prove as always so difficult to get the better of.

Embed from Getty Images

Score Prediction

Germany 2-1 England – The German national side will prove to have just a little too much for England to deal with on Saturday. This game should provide both sides with a taster of what is to come from the Euro’s this summer and give both head coaches ideas of areas they will need to improve upon with just over two months to go.

Premier League Preview and Prediction: Watford vs Leicester City

Competition: Premier League – Watford FC Vs. Leicester City FC

Venue: Vicarage Road – Saturday, March 5 – 17:30 GMT (12:30 ET)

Match Odds: Watford 2/1 – Draw 23/10 – Leicester City 7/5

Match Preview

Watford host Premier League leaders Leicester City on Saturday evening, in a crucial fixture for the visitors at the top of the table.

Leicester could be behind Tottenham by the time this one kicks off, so the Foxes will be looking for all three points in what looks a tough game.

Watford have struggled in recent weeks, having picked up just one league win in their last five, and have fallen out of the top half as a result. But they are a tough side to break down and are only three points from getting back into the top ten, which is testament to how solid they’ve been this season.

Quique Sanchez Flores’s side come into this one off the back of the 1-0 defeat at Manchester United on Wednesday night. They were unlucky to lose that match late on but home comforts will increase their chances of success this time around.

Embed from Getty Images

Striking duo Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney have mustered up just one goal at home since the turn of the year. So they need to find their feet if Watford are to recapture their form during the final stretch of the campaign.

Leicester City played out a 2-2 draw with West Brom on Tuesday night, which at the time didn’t seem great, but results on Wednesday suggest the point was certainly a valuable one, as their title rivals failed to deliver. Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester City all lost and so the Foxes remain at the top of the table heading into the weekend.

Leicester are able to solely focus on the league as they are out of the FA Cup and have no European commitments. They have five more games to play away from home, with tricky trips to Chelsea and Manchester United still to come.

Embed from Getty Images

They do, however, have the best away record in the top flight and will hope to keep that intact with three points on Saturday.

Jamie Vardy is still the league’s top scorer and would love to find the net against Watford again just as in did in the corresponding fixture, which saw the Foxes win 2-1 at the King Power Stadium in November.

Team News

Watford look set to be without Jose Manuel Jurado, Joel Ekstrand and Tommy Hoban as all three are injured. Nathan Ake will hope to return at left-back after missing the defeat at United on Wednesday.

Leicester City will continue to be without key midfielder N’Golo Kante, who suffered a hamstring injury against Arsenal three weeks ago. Andy King is expected to deputise as he did against West Brom. Matty James is also out. Shinji Okazaki will hope to start ahead of Leonardo Ulloa once more.

Key Points

Watford’s last five:  D/L/W/D/L

Leicester City’s last five: W/W/L/W/D

Key Stat: Watford have only lost at home to Leicester once in seven games at Vicarage Road.

Key Player: Troy Deeney – The Hornets captain will be out to inflict damage on a title-chasing Leicester side here. He scored the vital goal in the incredible 2013 playoff semifinal clash between the two and would love to be the man to hurt the Foxes again. Deeney could even get himself into the England national team picture with Wayne Rooney injured.

Embed from Getty Images

Score Prediction

Watford 1-1 Leicester City – This will be a tough game for title-chasing Leicester as Watford are a tough nut to crack and often shut out opponents very well. The Foxes might need a moment of magic to seal three points but it’s too tight to call, so a score draw is the most likely result.

Premier League Preview and Prediction: Arsenal vs Leicester

Competition: Premier League – Arsenal vs. Leicester City

Venue: Emirates Stadium – Sunday, February 14 – 12:00 GMT (07:00 ET)

Match Odds: Arsenal 4/6 – Draw 3/1 – Leicester 19/5

Match Preview

Arsenal host Leicester in a huge Premier League clash on Sunday afternoon, with the outcome of this match certain to have an impact on the title race.

The Gunners come into the weekend in third place, five points behind league leaders Leicester, and know this is probably their biggest game of the season so far.

The pressure is on Arsene Wenger’s side to deliver on home soil. A win wouldn’t put them top, but would close the gap on Leicester to two points and would give them a huge psychological boost.

Embed from Getty Images

Beating The Foxes will be no easy task though. Leicester have only lost twice this season – the fewest defeats in the league – and are currently unbeaten in seven games.

Claudio Ranieri’s men continued to shock everyone with their 3-1 demolition of Manchester City last weekend and are now title favourites for the first time this season.

They did lose to Arsenal earlier in the season and it will be important for Leicester to try and put that 5-2 defeat to the back of the minds as they will need to focus on the job at hand.

Embed from Getty Images

Recent history is on Arsenal’s side as they are currently unbeaten in nine Premier League games against The Foxes. The Gunners are expected to win this game but if anyone can continue to stun the footballing world, it’s Leicester.

Team News

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will be relieved to see fewer names on his injury list than he has for a while. The Gunners are still without four players as Santi Cazorla, Danny Welbeck, Tomas Rosicky and Jack Wilshere remain out, but the good news is Alexis Sanchez is back to full fitness, while Francis Coquelin should also be back in good shape too.

Claudio Ranieri isn’t expected to make any changes to the team that beat City last weekend. Jeffrey Schlupp, Matty James and Daniel Amartey are the only three names Leicester have to worry about as far as injuries go.

Key Points

Arsenal’s last five: D/D/L/D/W

Leicester’s last five: W/D/W/W/W

Key Stat: Arsenal have not lost a league game at home to Leicester since September 1973.

Key Player: Jamie Vardy – There isn’t much more to be said about Jamie Vardy in what has been a sensational season for the English forward. But his pace will be key for Leicester on Sunday as they will look to hit Arsenal on the counter-attack as much as possible.

Score Prediction

Arsenal 2-2 Leicester – Arsenal will see this as a must-win game as far as their title hopes are concerned but it’s impossible to go against Leicester, especially as they destroyed Manchester City in an equally important match last weekend. The Foxes have proven to be a match for anyone and will setup to hit Arsenal on the break – something they should be able to do well. This looks to have goals in it but we can’t separate the two.

Premier League Preview and Prediction: Manchester City vs Leicester City

Competition: Premier League – Manchester City vs. Leicester City

Venue: Etihad Stadium – Saturday, February 6 – 12:45 GMT (07:45 ET)

Match Odds: Man City 4/7 – Draw 16/5 – Leicester City 9/2

Match Preview

Manchester City welcome Premier League leaders Leicester City to the Etihad Stadium in the first game of the weekend.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side have been in a great run of form and are unbeaten in their last seven in the league. This is a huge tie which they desperately need to take all three points from to ensure they are in the strongest position possible to regain the title.

Manchester City have not lost in their last nine outings against Leicester in all competitions and haven’t conceded a goal in the last three meetings between the sides.

The Manchester giants come into this one off the back of their hard earned 1-0 away win over Sunderland, a great example of their resilience and proof they are more than capable of grinding out results.

Leicester City are continuing to fly high and are three points clear of Manchester City at the top of the league coming into this one.

They won convincingly last time out against Liverpool with Jamie Vardy scoring that unforgettable screamer and have scored five goals in their last two games.

Claudio Ranieri’s side are unbeaten in 14 of their last 15 away Premier League games and are more than capable of making this a really tough tie for Manchester City.

If Leicester can avoid defeat here they will give themselves a great chance of winning the league but some are still questioning their chances. Leicester on paper have a favourable run in to the end of the season after their next two games and we will really get a feel for how things will end up over the coming weeks.

Team News

Manchester City’s injury list is a concern for Pellegrini but shows the importance of squad depth. Six first team players look set to miss out as Samir Nasri, Wilfried Bony, Kevin DeBruyne, Fabian Delph, Jesus Navas and captain Vincent Kompany are all sidelined.

Leicester City have just the three players who look unlikely to feature here, Daniel Amartey is a doubt while Matthew James and Jeffrey Schlupp are both out.

Key Points

Manchester City’s last five: W/D/W/D/W

Leicester City’s last five: D/W/D/W/W

Key Stat: Solid – Leicester have kept five clean sheets in their last six Premier League games.

Key Player: Sergio Aguero – The Argentine goal-machine has bagged six in his last five Premier League outings and now has 13 for the season. If he continues to find the net at this ratio he could well be the difference for City bringing the title back to the Etihad.

Score Prediction

Manchester City 2-1 Leicester City – Pellegrini’s side to edge this one in a tie which could have a serious impact in the race for the title. It should be a thriller and one not to miss.
