Manchester United looking to beat Arsenal and Liverpool to French goal-machine

Manchester United have emerged as candidates for the signing of Ligue 1’s top scorer Alexandre Lacazette, according to LeSport10.

Lacazette has been tipped for a summer move after impressing some of Europe’s top clubs with his performances this season.

The Olympique Lyonnais striker has netted 27 goals in 32 appearances, and according to LeSport10, Manchester United are a possible destination, with Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool also linked.

At 23, Lacazette would be a long-term investment but United will come up against tough competition to secure his services, with Paris Saint Germain another club reportedly interested and Lyon are hoping not to lose their star man.

United have been linked with numerous attacking options for the upcoming summer transfer market, and having already secured the highly rated Memphis Depay, this could be an early indication of a possible deadly duo.

Transfermarkt.co.uk value Lacazette at around £17.6 million but it is reported that his services could cost any potential buyer in the region of £40 million.

Manchester United given HUGE boost in chase for £44m-rated star

Manchester United have been given a huge boost in their hunt for a goal-machine this summer as Real Madrid could be willing to let Karim Benzema leave, according to the Daily Star.

Benzema has been at Real Madrid since 2009 and has netted a staggering 134 goals in 279 games, which is all the more impressive as he has played each season with prolific goalscorer Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 27-year-old Frenchman could be the perfect option for Louis Van Gaal given his vast experience of playing and scoring consistently at the top level.

The France international is valued at £44 million by Transfermarkt.co.uk and it is believed that Madrid would be willing to part with their star to reinvest in a younger goalscorer, with Arsenal also reportedly interested.

Benzema is reaching the peak of his career and so a move could be a good option for both parties. His style of play could be well suited to the Premier League as a striker who boasts a complete range of abilities.

As United look set to return to Champions League action next season his experience in the competition would be a great addition to the squad. Benzema has proved he can work well with big egos and the highest quality of players.

A move could also rejuvenate struggling United star Angel Di Maria’s career. The two were part of Madrid’s ‘La Decima’ (tenth European Cup triumph) and linking up once again could help Benzema make his decision.

City deal HUGE blow to United and Chelsea’s pursuit of €100m-rated star

Manchester City have held initial talks with Juventus over a possible move for €100 million-rated midfielder Paul Pogba, according to Sky Sports Italia.

It is understood that City’s representatives travelled to Turin to talk with Pogba over a move to the Etihad Stadium this summer.

Last season’s Premier League champions face a tough task to secure Pogba’s services as he is being chased by some of the biggest clubs in Europe, including the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain.

City are understood to be the first club to make advances on the player by visiting Turin but PSG are reportedly ready to stump up the asking price to beat of competition for the French international.

Pogba could yet find himself playing in this season’s Champions League final as his Juventus side take a narrow 2-1 lead into their semi-final second leg against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu on Wednesday night.

Yaya Toure is expected to leave City this summer and Pogba is viewed as the perfect replacement should he do so.

Chelsea set to HIJACK United’s move for young Brazilian star

Chelsea are looking to add another young Brazilian to their ranks with a move for Fluminense’s Robert Kenedy who has also caught the eye of Manchester United, according to The Guardian.

The 19-year-old attacker has been working his way to the top of Brazilian football after bursting onto the scene two years ago when he was the top scorer in Brazil’s squad at the South America’s Under-17 Championships.

Kenedy has expressed his desire to play alongside his Brazilian compatriots Oscar and Ramires at Chelsea and it is looking likely that he will be the club’s second Brazilian signing in a short space of time, having already secured Nathan de Souza.

Any possible transfer is estimated to cost a similar £4.5 million fee that Chelsea paid for Nathan.

One issue is that Nathan and Kenedy would not qualify for work permits at present, meaning they would be loaned out. Chelsea have a strong affiliation with loaning young players out in the last few years to Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem, which could be a possible destination for the two Brazilian youngsters.

Chelsea signed Oscar at a similar age back in 2012 and initially it seemed they would be loaning him out, but he was thrown in at the deep end and has gone on to make 152 appearances for the club already.

Kenedy can play either as winger or behind the striker and has scored two goals with five assists in 31 appearances for Fluminense.

Would Kenedy be a good signing for Chelsea? Do they need another young attacker at the club?

United in ‘advanced talks’ to beat Liverpool and Chelsea to young striker

Manchester United are looking likely to win the race for Burnley striker Danny Ings when his contract expires at the end of the season, according to talkSPORT, and the Red Devils will look to beat Chelsea and Liverpool to his signature.

The 22-year-old English striker has impressed in the Premier League with Burnley this season, netting nine times with four assists, and is set to be rewarded with a big summer move.

Liverpool have been strongly linked with a move for Ings as Brendan Rodgers is looking to reshuffle his forward line this summer, while Chelsea and Spurs are also reportedly keen on signing him on a free at the end of the season.

But it is Louis Van Gaal and Manchester United who look to be the most attractive option for the England Under-21 star, and the club are reportedly in advanced talks for his services.

United would likely have to pay Burnley around £5 million in compensation as Ings in under the age of 24 but that will not be a stumbling block.

The arrival of the Burnley star will spell the end for Colombian striker Radamel Falcao, who has struggled to impress in his only Premier League season, and he is set to return to AS Monaco at the end of his loan spell.

Robin Van Persie has also been linked with a move away, while Javier Hernandez is unlikely to return to Old Trafford, so strikers will be a priority for Van Gaal.

Boost for United as £60m star WILL play at Old Trafford next season

Manchester United have received a boost ahead of the summer transfer window as Argentinian winger Angel Di Maria is set to stay at the club next season, according to the Sunday People.

The British record signing joined United from Real Madrid for £59.7 million last summer but hasn’t reached the levels he would have hoped for in his first Premier League season.

He has scored three goals with ten assists in 24 league appearances under Louis Van Gaal this season but has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.

An attempted gunpoint burglary at his home in Prestbury, Cheshire shook Di Maria up in February and left him unsettled in Manchester.

But he has since moved to the city centre in an apartment and is now in discussions to extend his lease on the property for another year, suggesting he will spend at least one more season with Manchester United.

The 27-year-old attacker came on in Saturday’s 1-0 loss to Chelsea but has not started a game since the FA Cup clash with Arsenal in which he was sent off.

United’s loss at Stamford Bridge ended a six-game win streak but the Red Devils have improved as the season has gone on and the club, as well as Di Maria, will hope to kick on further next year.

Manchester United star agrees to join Real Madrid – report

Manchester United goalkeeper, David De Gea, has verbally agreed to join Real Madrid and only an agreement between the clubs is lacking, according to the Mirror.

De Gea, arguably United’s best player this season, has been nominated for the PFA Player of the Year award and is known to be on Real Madrid’s radar.

The United goalkeeper has reportedly agreed to join the Spanish giants but an agreement between the clubs has yet to be confirmed.

Spanish journalist, Josep Pedrerol, has told television channel La Sexta that De Gea “has said yes to United” and just a formal agreement between the clubs is now needed – something that will be tougher than it sounds.

De Gea has long been reported as a replacement for Madrid legend, Iker Casillas, and is expected to be his replacement in the Spanish national side too.

The 24-year-old shot-stopper will be in action on Saturday afternoon against league leaders Chelsea and he is expected to be busy once again as the Red Devils look to extend their winning streak to seven.

Louis Van Gaal will not want to lose his star player this summer but if the Spaniard wants to move on to Madrid, he will be hard pushed to find an equal replacement.

Liverpool line-up risky offer for £40m-rated striker – report

Liverpool are weighing up an offer for £39.6 million-rated Manchester United misfit Radamel Falcao, according to Fichajes.net.

Falcao is set to leave United after a disappointing season under Louis Van Gaal, scoring just four Premier League goals in 21 appearances, and will return to parent club AS Monaco at the end of the season.

He has been linked with a move back to former club FC Porto but Liverpool are keeping tabs on the Colombian striker and could make a move to keep him in the Premier League.

Brendan Rodgers is on the look out for another striker as he has suffered the same problem with his summer signing, Mario Balotelli, who has struggled to impress and could be on the move again after one season.

Balotelli has just a single Premier League goal in 14 appearances and his performances have come under heavy criticism.

Falcao could potentially be another problem for Rodgers to deal with but Liverpool could be in luck if there is any revival of his past form.

Falcao has scored an impressive 195 goals in 317 club appearances, but at nearly £40 million, it could be risky business for the Merseyside club.

Would a move for Falcao be a huge risk for Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool?

Manchester United dealt major blow in pursuit of Juventus star

Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal has made it clear that he has no intentions of leaving the Italian club this summer despite interest from Premier League clubs and in particular Manchester United, according to the Express.

“I feel good at Juve and I don’t feel the need to move elsewhere. In Turin me and my family feel good,” Vidal told Italian paper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Chilean international was at the centre of heavy rumours linking him with a move to the Red Devils in the summer, but the deal never came off and it’s thought the reason was due to a knee injury to Vidal.

Many are expecting Louis Van Gaal to be a busy man during the next transfer window, but it looks as though they can rule out the possibility of Vidal heading to Manchester.

The 27-year-old has made 24 league appearances for Juventus this season, contributing six goals and three assists for the Old Lady who are 12 points clear at the top of the table and cruising to a fourth consecutive Serie A title and 31st in the club’s history.

Juventus are Italy’s most successful club and have a Champions League quarter-final with Monaco to look forward to tonight and they will have high hopes of making the semi’s, with Vidal continuing to play a crucial role in the side.

Liverpool to HIJACK United’s move for £23.7m-rated starlet – report

Liverpool are set to hijack Manchester United‘s move for one of Europe’s hottest prospects, Memphis Depay, according to Fichajes.net.

The PSV Eindhoven starlet has been under the close eye of some of Europe’s biggest clubs and Manchester United were reportedly frontrunners for his signature, but Fichajes have reported that Liverpool are willing to pay up to £23.7 million to beat their Premier League rivals to the Dutch winger.

Depay has netted an astonishing 19 goals in 26 Eredivisie appearances this season and it is no surprise big clubs are chasing him.

Liverpool are heavily linked with losing their own young attacking star in Raheem Sterling, so Brendan Rodgers could see Depay as an ideal replacement.

The 21-year-old Dutch international could however fancy a move to United to work under fellow Dutchman, Louis Van Gaal. Spurs are another side that are keeping tabs and were linked with a move last summer following an impressive showing at the World Cup in Brazil.

Depay could see more regular playing time at the Merseyside club due to United’s attacking depth, but he will also want to be featuring in the top level of European football, and as things stand Liverpool will not be playing in the Champions League next season.

Depay looks likely to be on the move this summer and the battle for his signing could be intense.
